  April 21, 2019 - Has improved substantially with age. Oak is noticeable in the nose, but has integrated much better so that no longer hides tertiary notes of leather. Maybe even a touch of fruit in the way of plums. Mouth is medium weight, with loads of acidity in the mid palate and in the finish. Acids seem a touch disjointed from the rest of the wine, but overall not bad as a food wine.
  
  P,S, Upon further tasting I'm afraid I need to downgrade this from an 88 to an 86. The acids are just so disjointed as to be really distracting. I generally really like high acid wines. But in this case the acid seems as if it is unrelated to the wine. I wonder if it is a sign that acid was added post fermentation?

  February 1, 2014 - It needed to decant a little while. Flavors and aromas of plum, pepper, lemon and lots of dark fruit.

  March 28, 2013 - Looks like I'm going to buck the trend... super drinking wine. Love the deep dark fruits with moderate pepper, a little more spicy on day 1, but day 2 its super smooth and DELICOUS with calzone. Not sure what I paid so can't give a qpr rating, but hope I can find some more. Love it!!
