July 7, 2021 - Decanted 2 hours. On the nose cherries, plums and spice. On the palate a mineral driven fruit flavour consisting of cherries and plums (no surprise there!). The tannins are partly resolved, but a lovely finish with some grip still. This was a very appealing Brunello just at the start of its maturity. A real pleasure now, but will age gracefully for another 5-8 years. Excellent with Bistecca di Fiorentina. It's nearly ten years ago that I bought this bottle and it has aged well in my three different cellars during these years. (92+)

October 4, 2018 - Brought to a tasting event. This wine has so much left to offer that I cannot believe it already has 14 years of age. Massive tannin structure. Beautiful nose and gorgeous sour cherry and red fruit flavor. Still very young and have plenty more years ahead. Cellar for another 6-8 years and try again.

September 16, 2016 - took to a charity dinner, hard to assess with all that was going on but i tasted this briefly and it was super high toned, light on its feet, more acidity / red fruited than I would have expected (love that!!), the tannins were moderate but noticeable at first, mellowed a little bit after a couple hours of air in the decanter, really nice but my table simply "drove the lane to their right" and jumped all over the two cabs on the table... fair enough as they were both very good ('06 dominus and '08 Newton Puzzle)

February 16, 2016 - Coravin Marathon with Tim, Ben, Michael (Wingtip): 2004 cabrili riserva brunello
Moderate minus ruby to a red rim.
Beautiful red cherry, black cherry, and slight chocolate (oak). Slight brett (dog fur) - very well-integrated.
medium plus body
elevated alcohol
high acid
elevated tannins - quite chewy and chocolatey
Dried and fresh black cherry on the palate. Some sweet tamari development.
I liked this a bunch. -
