Community Tasting Notes 10

March 8, 2021 - A wonderfully classical Barolo profile. Fresh and youthful for a 15 year old wine, lots of dusty tannins and floral lift, white nuts, firm and structured palate, powerful (14% ABV) but not weighty, long and tannic finish. Will last, but no further upside from here.

May 4, 2020 - From a 2 hectare plot in the Cru Gramolere in Monforte d'Alba, first produced in 2001, 14% ABV, average production 6,000 - 7,000 bottles. Mature but lively garnet colour; heady nose of chocolate and menthol, slightly dusty, with autumnal notes of spices and forest floor; the palate is sturdy and energetic, with refreshing acidity and tough but well-managed tannins, but it also comes across as slightly monolithic; good resonance and length on the mature and dry finish. Good rather than great, completely ready. Drink soon(ish).

December 23, 2018 - Great tannins, drink now or in 5 years

October 21, 2016 - Cherry and menthol. Soft lithe tannins that are well integrated. Fair amount of bricking with lots of brown on the edges. Very enjoyable. Should last another 4 - 6 years, although the color may be much browner, tannins will be even more integrated and well faded.

June 8, 2016 - It really is Disappointing. Not enough fruit to balance out the acidity leaving a rather flat wine
