April 5, 2024 - Piedmont night: Similar to the Monprivato but much more approachable. Intense cherry fruit, superb nose and texture on the palate. More pleasurable now but less structure to age than the Monprivato. A very pretty wine.

April 5, 2024 - Almost fully resolved. Drinking very well. Had a very clear G. Mascarello signature. The wines from stable 01 to 08 are so well made with a stronger red-fruited signature.

November 1, 2023 - Bon vin mais décevant vu le pedigree.
On ne ressent l'élegance habituelle du domaine.

October 17, 2023 - Sangiovese or Nebbiolo theme dinner at Solo. Tasted blind. Drank in Spiegelau Definition Bordeaux.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose medium intensity, with aromas of broody earth, dark red cherries, sour red cherries, crushed stones minerality, flitting VA. developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), structured but smooth fine high tannins, sneakyh full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of classic sour red cherries, ripe red cherries, elegant strawberry and plum, stony minerality. Long finish.
Very good quality. Lots of traditional classic feeling here. Needed good air time to show itself.

February 9, 2023 - Decanted 6 hours. Good nose with rose, cherries and plums dominating. Still lots of tannins but not much acidity. In the mouth you have apart from the fruit above, also mint, balsamico and honeycomb. This is a good barolo but nothing more. Had the Monprivato 2006 a month ago and this is not near at all.
