May 13, 2023 - Super Tuscan at peak, love it! Wining with @Bas & @Derk: plum, tobacco, black currant, leather, vanilla, espresso, cherry, medium plus body, great long finish

May 5, 2023 - Still very purple in color, no real browning at all. Used Durand to open, cork was in good condition. Drank from Zalto Bordeaux glass.

The aromatics on this wine are fantastic. Warm red fruit, Christmas cake, baking spices like nutmeg and clove. Also some mineral, graphite, and tobacco/leather.

In the mouth, it is soft, but still lively showing tension and verve. Red cherry, pomegranate, cranberry, and a little orange peel are the predominant flavors up front. Then earth, leather, and summer garden herbs like thyme mix into the mid-palette. Finish is clean and shows more bright red fruit and earth with slightly drying tannin.

Very good wine. In a great spot now, but will hold for a while under proper cellar conditions. Drink 2023- 2030.

December 26, 2022 - Pleasure to return to this vintage after 2 years. Made from a sophisticated blend of 23% Sangiovese, 22% CF, 21% Merlot, 12% CS, 8% Alicante, 6% Syrah, 6% PV and 2% Mourvedre. Rich and perfumed aroma of cherries, tobacco, expressive dried flower petals, scorched earth, spices and dried herbs, balsamic and coffee hints. Medium body, concentrated flavours wrapped into elegant and mild mouthfeel, fragrant and layered flavours concludes with structured fine grained tannins and long dried fruit and tobacco finish.

January 4, 2021 - Very nice example. Decanted half hour before tasting. 91. Dark fruit dominates well into the bottle, lovely. With the crew, A&B, A&G, roast chicken, duck fat potatoes, arugula salad w anchovy. No reason to hold off, drinking now. Has some longevity as well.

November 12, 2020 - What a wonderful wine. Light purple pink in color. Decanted for 1 hour. Notes of cherries, dark chocolate, rosemary, oak. Medium+ body, medium+ acidity. Supple and well integrated tannins that make this structured and yet lets the delicate fruit shine. The 14 years in the bottle has served it well. It is a joy to drink. So well integrated. Old world wine that is rock solid. Does not try hard please and is happy being itself and allow to fall in love with it. Very nice wine.

(Caiarossa, Toscana IGT) Caiarossa is a relative newcomer, with biodynamic vineyards planted outside the Bolgheri DOC boundary between 1999 and 2000. Its latest blend (23% Sangiovese, 22% Cabernet Franc, 21% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, with small quantities of Alicante Bouschet, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Mourvèdre) features spicy clove and cinnamon aromas, accompanied by scents of sweet balsamic reduction, leafy lettuces, green tobacco, and violet pastilles. Concentrated tannins form the backbone. Appellation: Bolgheri
