January 4, 2023 - Saturated dark ruby in color. Lovely aromas of dark florals, dark red plums and cherries, mocha, spice and forest-floor. Quite expansive on the palate showing good depth to the sweet compote of reddish black cherries, good inner-mouth perfume of florals & forest-floor, medium acidity, ripe tannins and a long perfumed, fruit-filled finish. This is really aged well for a 2003.

June 30, 2020 - Dark ruby in color. Aromas of dark red plums and cherries, licorice, hummus and hint of underbrush. Broad and expansive palate shows sweet dark red fruit compote, brown sauce, medium acidity, resolved tannins and a long smoky finish. This is definitely not a roasted, over the top jammy 2003 and has aged well.

December 12, 2016 - This particular bottle showed far too much coffee and chocolate oxidation.

February 26, 2014 - Tasted blind against mainly red Burgundies, initially struck match on the nose. Fresh red berry aromas with some earth. On palate, ripe but fresh and cool. Flavours tending black fruit and licorice, earthy. Nice texture on the palate, if a little drying on the finish. Good acids, fruit weight, structure and length. Suave, fine grained tannins. Technically very correct but some tasters thought it overly so. On the reveal, the vintage was a real surprise, as the wine was quite classical, showing no sign of the 2003 heat, as was the climat. Some tasters recognised what they interpreted as the Vougeraie house style. In the drinking window now but some years ahead of it, 94.
