  December 12, 2023 - Wonderful wine at the 15-year mark. Creamy fruit profile of blackberry, black cherry, and dark plums. Rich core of dark chocolate, earth, toasty oak, and subtle tobacco notes. Lovely balanced wine right now with good acidity, smooth tannins, and beautiful long finish. So good right now but no rush. Love me some Howell Mountain and this one will go the distance.

  October 6, 2023 - Great bottle, but starting to show some age. Quite different from the last couple bottles which were still fruit forward, rich, and complex with a long finish. This is still good but this particular bottle didn't have much left to give.
  
  The fruit is still there with blueberry and strong acidity to hold the initial palette together. There are some cedar, soy and cola notes trying come through on the finish. But there is just something lacking from this bottle compared to others. All stored the same, quite interesting. Lacking some body and that velvety nature i noticed in the others.
  
  Still great, probably just bottle variation. Pull one out and try it, there's no reason not to.
  
  +3 hrs, I spoke to soon. This just needed more time. I originally decanted to get rid of sediment and the first few glasses were good but not up to the previous bottles. The last glass was bold, balanced and much richer. Still a strong acidity driving through this, but it came around much more than I thought it would.

  March 19, 2023 - Big, bold cab. Black and blueberries. Tannins were mellowed but still there. Had with grilled Santa Maria tri-tip.

  March 11, 2023 - We opened the bottle Friday night, drank half and put the cork back in and let the other half sit in the fridge. Saturday night we pulled the cork and drank it with our very good friends Leslie and Michael. Saturday i was paired against a 2015 Backus and a 2015 Realm Houyi and it held its own. Dark fruit with hints of tobacco on the nose. The palate was dark berries, tobacco, sandalwood and forest floor. The finish was impressive.
