January 6, 2021 - Very deep color, nose of tart berries. But it's way too heavy for me. In mouth it gave aromas of black coffee, chocolate, leather , fungus and some bitterness of earth, with less fruits than many aglianicoes. It's better on the 2nd day for the coarseness would be rounded up by more oxydation

August 30, 2018 - My second and last bottle of this stunner. Still going strong at 18. Lovely with braised pork. Elegant fruit, herb, earth flavor profile.

March 2, 2015 - Weekly tasting group #158; A mixed set of red wines. (@ My place): In the bouquet black berries like cassis, licorice, sweet spices, some autumn impressions as well as some ok barnyard. On the palate firm cherries and dark berries, sweet spices, chocolate, forest floor a firm amount of acidity and still sticky tannin. Harmonious, slightly mature wine and really nice. Ready now and no hurry at all.

August 15, 2014 - Beautiful nose with initial notes of nail polish and bitter almond, later cherries and sage. The mouthfeel is rather fresh although there is a slight bitterness from alcohol or oak which is disturbing. The fruit leans a little bit to the dark side, including plums and black cherries, some traces of oak on the palate, though it is quite integrated. There is still at lot of fruit left here so this one will probably last another 7-8 years without a problem, but still it drinks well now.
