April 13, 2024 - Opened this up about 6 hours ahead. It needed that time to breathe. Inky purple. If I didn’t know differently, I’d say this was less than 5 years old just from the appearance. Still had strong tannins, but drinking well now. Made cassoulet to accompany and it was perfect. Dark berries and eucalyptus on the palate. Very long. Wish I had more. Bought this at a dinner with Alain Brumont back in 2016.

January 24, 2024 - thought this wine was very good. Reviews that are in the low 90s is approriate. no reason to wait on this wine. Brumont is an excellent producer and i can see why he has given his pretigous neighbors in Boardeaux a run for thier money in the better vintages.

September 1, 2019 - This is always difficult. The wines from Chateau Montus are too young when you open them, or too old. This is quite nice. Big nose with ripe black fruit. Like a young Bordeaux which is a compliment. Big palate, lot's of tannins but very nice and tasty. I like it.
