Community Tasting Notes 5

April 6, 2016 - I really enjoyed this bottle. True to form, it's showing a attractive minty/herbal aromas along with citrus fruit. The palate is in fine balance and offering an elegant and lightweight character at the moment. Not the most complex wine, but an utter pleasure.

January 24, 2013 - Pale straw in color. A soft palate of slate, steel and a dash of mango and pneapple. Not intense and less sweet than I anticipiated. Still a nice wine that went well with spicy sechuan fare. Nice acidity and finish.

October 1, 2006 - Clear yellow fruits with a delightful autumnal woodsy note developing on the nose. Light bodied on the palate with apple flavors, some coconut and plenty of mineral extract and bright acidity. The medium/long finish delivers a minty/green woodsy sensation. Not a blockbuster, but a subtle little Riesling that gave me a lot of pleasure with its brilliantly clear expression.

January 20, 2006 - I did not like this Spatlese as much as Terry Theise did. This wine is a blend of 3 barrels with the 4th barrel being bottled seperately as the #19. Nice slate notes among the apple and talc notes. A bit lean though. 88-89 points.

July 14, 2005 - Nice, elegant, lighter-styled Spatlese. Balanced and refreshing.
