May 16, 2022 - First whiff seems slightly oxidized. After 20 to 30 minutes in the glass however this really started to shine. Waxy Chenin Blanc for sure, super peachy and lychee with honey and a rare funkiness. We drank with an overripe Brie straight from the barnyard that was a perfect match. Finished the bottle with grilled lobster tails. The acidity and lemon curd after a couple hours was incredible. Wish I had drunk two years ago but also wish I had more.

April 2, 2021 - This was so good. Drank it ages ago and just getting to recording it as I try to clean up my CT, but I still remember how impressive this was. Deep, burnished, a whiff of oxidation, but still fresh and beautiful. I wish I could replicate this experience with more recent vintages, but so far I have not been able to.

January 10, 2021 - Still young and acidic. Needs a while to develop into the glass, tense, mineral with a beautiful round body, pomelo and yellow fruit taste, slight chenin chalk feel in the end. Would still stand 3-5 more years.
A bit too powerful to be drunk on its own, requests food : could stand a creamy lobster and truffle dish.

December 3, 2019 - Intriguing nose of pomelo, citrus and a touch of brine. The wine is fully mature but not at all over the hill with a wonderful slightly but attractively oxidized consistency to it. Orchard fruit, grapefruit, wax and spice come through in a well balanced wine with a strong acidic background. A wine for the intellect.

September 12, 2019 - I could not decide if I loved or hated this after the first sip. I went in with expectations that this would be shot, but it was remarkably fresh and enjoyable. I don't expect all bottles to be this good.

Med- body. Very mineral / saline - almost Chablis like. But there's a wooly mid-palate and finish that screams older Chenin.

May 6, 2019 - This showed pretty well. Some lanolin, a mix of orchard fruits. Dry. Enjoyed it. From Magnum.

February 12, 2019 - Popped and poured. This is fully mature now but by no means over the hill with still quite a bit of interesting evolution ahead in my view. Light to medium golden, this is a full bodied dry Chenin. The nose of grapefruit and minerals is subtle and a little muted. The palate has excellent depth of flavor, with notes of pomelo, tropical fruit, beeswax, and minerals and sporting a really nice complex texture and finish to it. This is another 2008 Loire Chenin which is firing on all cylinders as I’m not sure people have realised how promising this vintage is for aging these wines.

September 21, 2018 - Last of the 4. First and last were the best. Number 2 was flawed and number 3 was meh. This one tastes great, though. Didn't have any bottle variation with the 2010s . . .
