November 4, 2011 - New "house" wine. Solid weekday vino for price.

October 16, 2011 - Make no mistake. This is a solid well made delicious Napa Valley cab. For 20 bucks it goes a long way. Blind, could this be mistaken for some $50-75 vino?? More to come in future tastings of this wine.

April 1, 2011 - Think there is a few dollar surcharge for the name, even if this is the second label fro Duckhorn. I still expected a bit more quality in the wine or a bit more pizazz. Maybe it was premature to pop, but there are plenty of '07s that are drinking fine now. The classic cab nose was faint even after some time out in the open and in the later glasses. To be fair, the tannins were already very smoothed, and there was some good weight to the wine, but again, was hoping for a bit more. Agree with the below comment about grilling companion, as we did have with a mix of grilled meats and it augmented the smokey flavors without contrasting. Wouldn't be unhappy to have again, just not at the $20-$21/bottle that I paid

December 9, 2010 - The thing I like about this wine is how its aromas and flavor profile align with what I associate with more expensive Napa Cabernet. As I smell an empty glass I get black currant, rich generous fruit and savory aspects that are extremely appealing. Cinnamon too. Makes me want to refill the glass.

The things separating this wine from one that's more expensive are occasional off notes, a lack of density, and a need to be aged in order for the tannins to soften. But for immediate consumption I think it would fare better than a lot more expensive wines. It's delicious and approachable.

Overall, the combination of the flavor profile with its convivial daily drinker nature make it a slam dunk if you can find it for around $15 (I paid $13.99 but WineSearcher averages trend higher across the country).
