March 1, 2024 - Still drinking superbly. Agree with vino me notes but did find some honey notes.
    A great interesting wine.

August 24, 2022 - This is one of Hirtzbergers prime sites. The vines were replanted around 1985. 2nd time I have had this wine and this was showing even better than 6 years ago. This presents like a much younger wine than 19 years old but with the depth that age brings. Medium yellow color. Honey aromas without any petrol. Notes of white pepper and kiwi. Silky finish. 94 points.

May 27, 2022 - Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium lemon colour, with fading watery fading rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with light intensity aromas of citrus fruit of lemon, green fruit of pear, floral notes of blossom, tropical fruit of melon, mineral notes of chalky, herbaceous notes of green bell pepper, maturity notes of honey. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium (+) in alcohol and medium body, with medium (+) intensity flavours of citrus fruit of lemon, green fruit of pear, mineral notes of stony, sweet spice of ginger, dairy notes of cream. The wine has a medium finish.
Conclusion: Good quality Wachau GV with a fairly light nose showing subtle yet quite complex aromas, with the fruity and floral notes supplemented with mineral chalky, some herbaceous green bell pepper and development characters of honey. On the palate it has an interesting contrast with much more concentrated flavours, good structure and well-balanced, finishing with a reasonable length. It is ready to drink now and can maintain for another 2-3 years.

January 3, 2018 - Pours a medium yellow. On pop and pour the nose is marked by an unpleasant petrol aroma, but after an hour it transforms into smoke, green pepper and minerals. The palate is smoky, with grapefruit, minerals and a vegetal streak that seems to gather at the midpalate. There's a significant density on the palate, but the acidity provides a nice counterbalance. Finishes with a wooly note that I associate with Chenin Blanc.

A very interesting wine, but not in my wheelhouse. To my tastes fully mature/slightly past peak.
