March 30, 2019 - An incredibly elegant super Tuscan. Nose of pencil shavings and earthy notes. Palate is restrained with the fruit in the background amid nice secondary flavors. Smooth tannins and a subtle woody finish rounds out the end. Reminds me a bit of Pichon Baron.

March 22, 2019 - The best of Antinori work. So elegant and classic. Nose of heaven filled with dark fruits, spices and earthiness. Great balance and texture and a delicious taste and finish. Drinking well now with 3 hours of slow ox and one hour of decanting.

November 17, 2018 - Wow wow... Where to begin? Unbelievable nose of perfume and petals. So balanced and a finish that lingers. Decanted for two hours and got better in the glass. The cork is so intact you can't help but think that this Solaia will last for decades.

November 10, 2018 - A Matter of Taste: New York (The Conrad NY | Del Posto): Still a super young wine but drinking pretty well. Nice fruits and a bit more earthy. Very pretty.

November 10, 2018 - Last tasted 14 months or so ago, when I foresaw upside for this muscular version of Solaia. Largely unchanged. Firm and intense, with powerful, dark currants, balsam and bramble. Sweet tannins. Long finish. Patience should be rewarded.
