March 8, 2021 - The wine has been a big disappointment to me. It might be my worst purchase over the past 10 year from a price-quality point of view. Decanted for two hours. It was flat and tasteless and did not improve as the evening progresses.

February 12, 2021 - 2008 Maison Champy Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers ($50 in 2011). Light amber; red fruit, earthy, animal, musk nose; light-mid body; softening acids; short red fruit finish; probably past its peak. w/veal. 16 UC Davis scale, 90 other scales.

March 15, 2020 - Beautiful showing here. Totally transparent, with notable bricking, call it medium minus. The nose is quite appealing and focused on the secondary and tertiary notes with nothing out of place. Aromas of cherry, light VA, a touch of wood, petrichor, sauteed green beans, a touch of rose petal, and soil. The palate had medium acid and medium acid. Really nice wine. Almost 92.

May 22, 2019 - Im not always a fan of Burgundy style, but I'm quite enjoying this one. It has that classic deep brooding dark cherry, brambly, earthy, mineral thing going on...but everything seems very in balance. it's somewhat translucent in color with brown tinged edges, but it has structure and substance that initially you wouldn't expect just looking at it. On day two even better. My top descriptors are earth, spice and a long dark cherry finish. While this totally feels ready to drink, I think it has at least 5 more years on it if not more.
