March 17, 2022 - The cork was in great shape and it came out intact. Moderate amount of sediment which was decanted off after standing up the wine for a day. The color is deeply red. There is only slight degree of brick color on the edge. The nose is pure smoked bacon and black/blue fruits. The taste is consistent. Moderate tannins. Soft tannins. Delicious and satisfying. This wine was purchased in 2005 and had been cellared in excellent condition ever since. Our colder Minnesota cellar tend to sow down the maturation of wine which may explain our bottle. Wing on better shape than some of the reports have indicated. Wonderful bottle.

April 6, 2021 - As they said in "Pirates of Penzance" (to paraphrase), "there are the remnants of a fine wine about it." I had this listed in my cellar as a 2005, but when I went to pull it, it was a 1995. Whoops. Too late. Ten years ago, maybe even five, it would have been good, maybe excellent. Today, a disappointment. The nose is lovely, the end of the finish shows what it once was, but in between...just unfortunate. This bottle was transported across country, and had been stored for the first few years in less than ideal conditions, but has been almost 20 years in a perfect cool cellar. If you have some, open it now, don't wait...and have a backup bottle.

May 16, 2020 - Correct, but utterly unbeguiling. Tertiary notes are earthy, but zero aromatic lift, no meatiness or savoriness left. Disappointing

June 8, 2019 - 2hr decant with strong green pepper and a little past it’s prime. Still excellent for grilled beef. Minimal tannins left but still w respectable tertiary palate.

May 8, 2018 - Still fantastic. Wine was in great shape. Forward syrah still lots of aging potential. Soft finish. Maybe another 3-5 years at least. Unfortunately my last bottle with a great friend who loved this wine.
