  July 19, 2021 - Inky ruby. Lots of funk upon opening, then blueberries and oak spice. Medium bodied, plums, blackberries, tongue coating tannins, black cherry pie, smoke, good acid, and a tart, dry finish. A little less than I expected or was hoping for.

  July 2, 2017 - Deep and dark almost pitch black, lots of sediment with black plum and blackberry flavors, nicely balanced. Good bottle

  September 6, 2016 - I credit the mountain fruit (and the winery's reluctance to monkey with it) for this bottle's longevity and integrity. Impossibly dark purple hue, and there's freshness here, deep and complex flavors, intensity and length. I would drink over the next 1-2 years.

  January 30, 2016 - Although the bottle has some 11 year of age on it, it still needs a good decant to bring out all the complexity. A nice vegetal nose and most of the fruit was hidden until it evolved with air. A very nice treatment of the spring mountain AVA.
