December 22, 2013 - Very approachable, yet still with some bite. Big fruit, not a light wine. Not overly complex, but very satisfying.

August 21, 2012 - a pleasant, slightly hedonistic wine, that is a blend of 61% Carignane, 39% Mourvedre.
Randall seems to know how to master Carignane, tame her tannins.
The nose exhibits clearly the black fruit of the Carignane, brambles and blackberry, with the smoked meatiness of the mourvedre.
A fun, fresh (still in 2012) wine that is easy drinking, pairs well with grilled fare. I'd open my next bottle in winter over a fire and a movie as well.
A nice, almost comfort wine, that is just fun to sip on. And thank goddess, Rhone.

August 20, 2011 - Boony Doon Cellar Door - Lunch & Tasting (Santa Cruz, CA): 61% Carignane, 39% Mourvedre. Bright raspberry nose. Light to medium bodied, soft and fruity on the palate. Berry fruit, mix of fresh and cooked. Not complex but a nice easy drinker. Might be better with a slight chill.
