Community Tasting Notes 12

December 12, 2012 - clean quince, gooseberry and a bit of pear/lychee/stone; good mouthfeel--some glycerin with medium acidity--worked well with the burma superstar leftovers.

July 16, 2012 - - Yellow color with medium forming legs with a medium body. Linear texture with a medium finish.

April 23, 2012 - Dinner with Friends: Golden in color. The nose is slightly waxy, some orange peel and some ginger ale notes. On the palate, this has a slight bitterness. However, when paired with charred Romaine with a Gorgonzola dressing, it really worked well. A really excellent pairing IMO. The mineral driven wine worked well with the charred lettuce and the cheese.

February 19, 2012 - Still drinking great. Tart pear, citrus, and and stone fruits. Excellent acidic balance. Very bright and energetic.

August 27, 2011 - Note quite as lychee-tastic as the '08, more weighted to citrus though the pear and lychee are on the nose and palate as well. Also a bit less concentrated. Still, packs a ton of freshness and delicious factor. Very well-made Chenin, I love this stuff. Thanks Costco for throwing me a Loire bone.
