October 29, 2021 - My first nice bottle after cheap bottles indicated my sense of smell had finally come back post-covid. And what a glorious bottle this is. Tar and violets and cinammon and red fruit and loads of concentration, still has plenty of tannin but the tannins are ripe and are starting to soften, so it's very drinkable, albeit better with rich food. The first impression is of muscularity but underneath is all this subtlety - a iron glove covering a velvet fist. So archetypically Serralunga. Fantastic.

January 21, 2015 - Medium garnet with ruby hues. Typical nose of a young Barolo with pronounced florality (roses and violets), red cherry fruit and minerality (tar). Medium-bodied with firm tannins of good quality that need time to resolve, bright fruit and high acidity. Long aftertaste. Needs another 5 years to fully express itself.

April 21, 2012 - Very meh and one dimensional. If your palate gravitates more to the California palate you will like this.

October 14, 2010 - Tasted at G.D. Vajra winery. No detailed notes, only a score. Really loved this wine. Bought a bottle and drank it later in our hotel room in Milan. Still loved it.

March 15, 2011 (link)(Luigi Baudana Baudana) Elegant aromas of tobacco, tar, dried cherry, and orange peel lead to a medium-bodied, concentrated texture with excellent grip and persistence. Youthful tannins are backed by acidity and subtle oak notes. Best in 15-20 years. Appellation: Serralunga d'Alba
