February 24, 2012 - Opaque core, bricking rim.
Intense early bouquet of ancho, peppercorn, graphite and black currant. Licorice and dill, vanilla (perhaps American oak...) This intensity slacks off in the glass a bit and gets stony and green.
Flavors follow the nose with a good schwack of concentration, gritty tannin, moderate acid, a bit bitter but good persistence and flow. Surprisingly quaffable. -

June 21, 2006 - Nice deep red color with a tinge of amber on the edges. Red currant and a hint of green pepper--on a blind tasting, I would have thought this was from Bordeaux. It seems like it would still improve with age....wish I bought more.
