Community Tasting Notes 5

May 23, 2012 - We enjoyed this 2009 Aussie cab-shiraz blend more than previous bottles of the label. It had pleasant nose and fruit and a decent-enough finish. Some may consider it confected, but for us it was a nice, inexpensive mid-week quafferand suited our purpose.

    December 15, 2010 - App: Purple red
Aroma: Spicy and sweet dark fruit
Medium body and poor balance. Concentrated and fruity paate with quite a lot of barrel notes.
    medium length

October 29, 2010 - {synthetic, 13.5%} Wearing the US importers back label, but entered in an Australian wine competition, so I'm not quite sure which blend is in this bottle. A kind of commercial crimson colour. Nose was slightly less sweet than I expected, with a slightly weedy, tobacco like note, overlaid with a touch of jam. The palate is medium-bodied, with some rather coarse tannins leading the display; basic commercial fruit reinforces the impact. Hard to see this selilng millions in the US - on the other hand it's a not-too-sugary, completely forgettable vin ordinaire, although the sweetness does grow on the palate after a while.
