    August 22, 2020 - Past its prime.

July 27, 2013 - So much better than last time. The tannins have calmed down, and the red and blue fruits and baking spices have come to the fore in a well integrated package. Earthy, rich black cherries, refreshing acid, and a long finish. Well worth the wait.

April 24, 2012 - Seductive sangiovese nose of lilacs and toasted bread. Still plenty tannic, sagrantino edging the balance toward more structured, less voluptuous wine, more firm and hinting of raspberry and wood. It is a beautiful cousin of brunello, but I find wishing for more of the traditional brunello profile. A very good wine, should continue evolving for several more years.

November 19, 2011 - merryberry is right on. This is very heavy on kirsch-like character. Fairly rich and round, but also huge tannic structure. Needs time. Medium acid--I was expecting more from Sangio. For me not much upside because fruit is already very mature, yet tannic structure is dominating.

November 14, 2011 - Purple. Dusty vanilla-infused raspberry candy nose. Light to medium bodied, tart dry cherries, lots of earth, massive grainy tannins, good acid, and a medium+ finish. A lot more Chianti-like than I expected. Needs more time.
