  March 7, 2014 - Yellow color with a distinct nose of minerals and citrus. Totally dry and in perfect balance. Shows vitality and vigor. Great length. Have several types of Chablis from Clotilde Davenne but unfortunately quite a number of them have gone bad after only a few years in the cellar. She is significantly over represented in the “gone bad league”. By reading the taste note from Ramberg on this very wine I suspect that is what happened to him. This bottle on the other hand was absolutely flawless and a good representative for how a Les Clos Chablis should taste. I am not purchasing any more Chablis from Davenne though, too risky.

  November 22, 2012 - Worst Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos I’ve had.
  And this is a really good vintage from other producers.
  On the nose some signs of beginning maturity, butter, apples.
  On the palate quite soft, with a short finish, some citrus and acid and the bitterness that seems to be a house characteristic, found in all four wines from Davenne tasted tonight in a white wine blind flight.
  Was woted as wine of the night by all 8 participants, but no one had this down as Chablis.
  Actually, just two out of eight even had the variety as Chardonnay, and that says something about this wine I believe?
  This is the worst display of a Grand Cru I’ve tasted, and I know for sure to stay away from Davenne.
  (And I love Les Clos from other producers)’
