  August 9, 2020 - Last bottle of this vintage was split between me, KC and the pot...as well as the plummy notes this is starting to show a little black pepper, leather but hasn't lost any of its denseness or, for that matter, its suppleness. A fitting farewell to a fine friend (as the rest of it is sacrificed to help chuck ribs ascend to new levels of greatness...)

  July 15, 2020 - From Coravin. After a long evening on the Yankee Cabernet this was my bridge to normalcy...baked plums, earth, a certain jubey red berry prettiness backing this, a herbaceous note that is more carignan than stalks and muted spice on the nose. In the palate, at cellar temperature, this is, though still rich and dense, surprisingly supple, despite a little alcohol warmth, that herbaceous note carries as do the plummy and jubey berry flavours. Almost a touch of Dr Pepper here (oddly) and cats tongue tannic rasp. Pleasing.

  April 8, 2020 - Surprisingly alive on both the nose and the palate. Ripe, dark berries and fruit lozenge with a touch of baked earth and herbs and a smidge of plum. Soft and easy on the palate with quite a warm, round mouthfeel. I'll try the 9 & 10 with the Coravin now rather than opening them for the pot (as I rather foolishly did with this one...shame on me)

  September 12, 2017 - A little plumy in colour, starting to.show a slight funk on the nose. Despite its nine years, still not giving much away on the nose. But on the pallete, just starting to come into its own. After a disappointing taste a few years ago, this time it is much more approachable. Fine and moreish tanins. Light weight. A bit of orange, plum, pepper and spice. Even met with the wife's approval, so must be ok. I think these will improve for a few years yet, but drinking just fine now.

  August 8, 2016 - Mich&Bo@Paul's (Pine Close): Ruby red. Warm berries on the nose, with Indian spiced oil. Complex, ashy spices, chewy yet clean smoke. Orange peel, dried floral, dark cherry, lavender garrigue. Concentrated plums, dark cherry, wood spice, heady amber and finishes with flourish of exotic incense .
