July 16, 2019 - Burgundy Lunch (with some pirates): This is a masculine showing which will need at least a decade, maybe two to blossom. It showed promising intensity and precision but it is not as hedonistically appealing as other wines we had that day. Good today but with so much more potential in the future.

TN: A bit muted notes needing a lot of swirling to show at least something. Spicy and racy. A bit more open on the palate displaying red fruit, earth, spices, minerality and some herbal aromas. Very intense, elevated precision, very fresh but not yet lots of joy to drink. The tannins are bold and prominent but very fine-grained. Very, very long in overall a big promise for the future.

Decanting: Not decanted. I would decant this wine for at least 4 hours prior to drinking.

July 9, 2019 - Burgundy lunch. Expressive nose of earth, bakery, spices. Lovely sweetness, ripe vintage visible. Can be drunk now. Very good but as always with Vogue, the wow moment is missing.

July 6, 2019 - Super perfumed, but also typical Bonnes Mares with structure and power. Deep dark red fruit, with notes of spices, cinnamon, pepper, but also tobacco leaf, smoke and some complex notes of fruit and spices. It‘s full-bodied and dense, with medium-high acidity and medium-high tannin. Superb length. And some great tension and complexity.
