Community Tasting Notes 4

December 31, 2011 - Nice straw color. Some oak and cream on nose, but light. Some vanilla and fruit but dominated by its acidity and alcohol for me. Very long tart finish. I didn't like it as well as others in its price range, but this may be stylistic.

May 17, 2011 - Medium golden in color and slightly cloudy. Nice ripe fruit w/ good acidity. Definitely new world but has nuances and complexity. Seems like this producer is under the radar. At $27 this is a very good qpr. Will seek out additional bottles.

December 28, 2010 - Having tasted other Ritchie Vineyards from the same vintage, this wine didn't finish near as well. Butterscotch and alcohol dominated. A little murky, but I didn't leave much settling time from shipment. A good QRP at $40 compared to, say, DuMol Ritchie et al in excess of $60.
