August 8, 2012 - Probably a little too medium bodied for a Syrah. The color is extremely dark. The nose has some acid domination, that continues on through the palate. Seems to closed, or in its "dumb stage" Swirling brings out some ripe blackberry and mulberry that is still trying to be shy. Lots of acidity that is somewhat uncharacteristic to my experience with Argentinian wines, leaving a rustic feeling across the palate. We still get that bright, ripe fruit that comes from elevation, and well drained soils. Grippy, persistent, little tannins. Has it's share of those hard to describe South American, more Chilean than Argentinian hard to describe flavors. Not much influence from oak. The finish, because of the tannins and acid, starts out dry and spicy before the black fruit and earthy things start to settle in with some graphite, licorice, and minerals. Time in the glass, and a taste of red meat really help this wine show it's promise.

October 18, 2010 - 10/18/10: Medium bodied. A little funky. Some tannins. Extracted a little, but shows some earth. Good value. 87-88

7/16/10: A little funk. Medium bodied. This is a solid value at $13, with nice structure. Good for grilled food. 87

7/13/10: Medium bodied. A nice little funk here. Solidly done, with nice balance and savoriness. Good price at $12.99 as well. This Alberti line seems to have a better structure then most Argentine wines at the same price point. 88
