August 18, 2011 - Deep red in the glass, high quality vanillin oak is immediately evident on the nose and combines with mint and concentrated blackberry fruit.
The palate has an exceptional mouth feel that is unwavering from entry to finish, the wine shows plush dark fruits of blackberry and blackcurrant with tomato leaf inspired tannins and rich coffee oak influences.
The finish has concentration, depth and elegance with oak, fruit and acid playing off each other masterfully.

One step away off primary-smelling, and not exactly vibrant. Dry medium-bodied wine, with cedar, cassis and herb flavours accompanied by a porty sensation and a strangely hollow feel to the texture. Medium dusty tannins; it’s not over-oaked, and remains a little lean on the back-palate. Not a bad wine, but the medium-length finish seems to lack freshness without the subtlties of age. Poor value at retail (>$A75?).
