March 5, 2024 - A bit darker and not quite as fresh as the last bottle of this a year ago. Bit more cork seepage. Quite lush with good flavors, classic deep peach apricot honey and touch of green herbs, nice mineral saline notes. Good acidity underneath kept it lively. Long finish. The prime bottles of this are singing these days...

December 27, 2023 - Deep golden with only a slight hint of an amber hue. The first minutes in the glass is a bit of a deja vue, with a total muted nose, but this wine of Huet still shows much better than some bottles of the 90 or 1997 Le Mont. It developes an unbelievable nose with different citrus notes, pears, yellow fruits, honey, blossoms and spices. On the palate with grippy tannins in the finish and the sweetness is of course at this age shed to some extent and it is not sweet enough to go with a dessert, maybe if the dessert is only a bit sweet, but it is best as the dessert or on its own as an apéritif. Long finish. 96 points from the WA in 2015 and this bottle is even better. 5/14/18/10. The cork was soaked almost to 100%. Stored under textbook conditions since release. The wine is holding through for a decade or more, if the cork holds thtough. -2032+

December 19, 2023 - deep gold starting to amber, nose on marmalade, honeyed ginger, yellow plum.
on the palate, what strikes is the freshness and youth! more candied yellow fruit and incredible sweetness / acidity balance.. it is light on its feet, long finish.

November 25, 2023 - Well balanced, the sweetness nicely leveled with the acidity. Just beautiful; perfect after a heavy Friendsgiving dinner. In a great place right now, but no rush.

November 23, 2023 - Surprisingly light color here: light gold rather than the amber tint I might have expected. Nose shows honey, baked pear, and almond paste. The palate has a pillowy texture but medium to light weight, with only moderate sweetness remaining. There's a gripping stony tang that appears on the back palate and finish to liven this up. All in all, this was nice but not especially complex and probably not worth the 34 years of cellar time to get to this point.

(Huet Vouvray Le-Haut-Lieu Moelleux) This showed very young. Layers of candied fruit (Pineapple, lemons, peaches) along with some minerality but really tight. Powerful, laser-like finish. Needs 20-30 years.
