December 4, 2021 - Auction purchase. Cranberry, raspberry, with a nice back end bite. In a good place, but will go another decade+

May 30, 2015 - (Tasted at The Vintage Piedmont Tasting at the Wine Watch, Ft. Lauderdale). I really loved this wine. Although it was not voted "wine if he night," it was probably in 2nd place. This Barbera has a very dark and dense purple color and an aromatic nose of dark fruit and violets. It tastes very raisiny, almost amarone like. There are also layers dark fruit, such as currents and black cherries, along with smoke, oak, and coffee. This wine is well crafted and balanced with fruit, oak, alcohol, and tannins. Overall, full bodied with a long finish, ending with fine tannins. Excellent!

December 23, 2012 - Bombastic, "ai suma" ( we have done it)...aristocratic and aged, yet balanced with nice acid and rich fruit notes.
A very nice wine. Unfortunately this seems to be my last bottle.
I am quite shoked now that I read the other tasting notes. My bottle was stored in my climated fridge and was bought at the vinyard...maybe the wine does not like to be shipped overseas?

September 14, 2012 - Bill's Monthly Lunch - September 2012 (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind. Not much to add to Blair’s note. This was very ripe and roasted on the nose with loads of acidity on the palate that gave it some much needed freshness. It’s drinkable.

September 14, 2012 - Disappointing...perhaps I kept this too long. Nose is quite strange - some VA, and oxidative notes. The fruit is very ripe, but the structure does not hold up that well...feels a bit stripped. From this experience, not worth the price - not even close.
