December 14, 2020 - This wine has a nose of red clay, dried cherries, leather, black pepper, Tabasco, and a hint of tobacco. The finish is medium long with pronounced tannins. Be sure to let this wine decant for at least an hour -- I drank it too soon and the more it opened up in the glass, the smoother it became with the tannins more integrated. This wine is still drinking well.

September 19, 2015 - Nose of leather, blackberries, oak, and black pepper. The body is light to medium with slight, smooth tannins. An easy to drink red. The wine improved as it opened up and I am revising my rating from 87 to 90 as a result.

March 18, 2015 - Final bottle of a case purchased on release, this is fully mature, with the up-front fruit of its youth now giving way to softer notes of tobacco, soil and leather. Medium-bodied, structured, but on its decline, so drink up if you have some. 13,5% abv., recommended
Slow-O 1 hr, served non-blind.

September 5, 2013 - PnP, served non-blind. So, after the bottle of a few months ago, I decided to put the remaining bottles in the 'drink me know' bin. Mistake. Or not, as this is SO on point right now - but may yet have some upside. Heavenly baking spice aromas, complicated by strawberries, french toast and herbs. Medium(+) body, with a gentle but expressive palate that is simply delicious. Nearly a 180 from the prior bottle, and it gives me hope for the last one I still hold from the original 6 pack. 13,5% abv, highly recommended

July 12, 2013 - Slow-O 3 hours, though if I had to do it again, I'd have splash decanted and enjoyed immediately.
Not sure if this is fading, or if it's bottle variation, but not nearly as enjoyable as bottles I've consumed since release. Either way, it got smoked by the 2006 Cantina di Santadi Shardana Valli di Porto Pino IGT that it was served next to. I've got 2 bottles left, that I'll prolly drink before year's end.
