Community Tasting Notes 10

  • dpolivy Likes this wine:

September 22, 2020 - Still has some good, bright fruit, along with violets, lavender, black pepper. Nice intensity on the body. Dense and rich, leading into a balanced finish with lingering fine tannins and good acidity.

  • GlenviewGSW Likes this wine: 93 points

June 28, 2019 - Last bottle and had not had a bottle for 3-4 years. Drinking really well at the moment. Nose is still fresh and vibrant. Long supple finish with a degree of aged elegance.

January 7, 2017 - Dark garnet hue. Dark berries, spice, raspberry nose. Tight, tart, medium bodied, white pepper, longish finish. My wife didn't like this bottle. I found it relaxing and enjoyable.

March 17, 2016 - I Coravin'ed a glass tonight, and this is in a good place right now. Expressive nose, with lots of violet, blue/black fruit, and some savory dried meat. Texturally very elegant and rich, with lovely black cherry and plum fruit and earthy minerals. Well balanced, with super-fine tannins on the finish. 92+

December 30, 2014 - What a great wine! Really, really yummy. Dark inky hue, smoky-dark fruit nose (nose average), flavor was delicious! Nicely balanced, no alcoholic overtones, no acidity, prime for drinking, velvety, smooth. We had this bottle open over a 3-4 day period and it held up. The winery, too, is magnificent. If you've never stayed overnight-- put it on your bucket list (Sept).
