August 15, 2011 - Wine Education Service - France - The South West (LSE): Light green gold.
Lightly aromatic, a little mineral, slight vanilla.
Full bodied, citrus attack, nice fruity mid palate, soft, reasonably long. Would keep at least two years.

August 15, 2011 - WES - France - The South West (LSE Holborn): Clear and Bright, Pale Lemon hue. Vanilla pod and cream to start on the nose but drops quickly to sharp stone fruits. Creamy and full on the palate. Good acidity, quite oily. Ripe peach fruit.

    May 25, 2011 - 13% d'alcool, Gros manseng, Petit corbu, Arrufiac

(Producteurs Plaimont Les Vignes Retrouvées, Saint-Mont) 60% Gros Manseng, 20% Petit Corbu, 20% Arrufi ac. Plaimont’s white blend features delicate aromas of white flowers and ripe pomelo zest, concentrated minerality, and dry extract on the midpalate, with a lengthy finish enhanced by sur lie aging and bâttonage. (Producteurs Plaimont Côtes de Saint-Mont Les Vignes Retrouvées, Southwest France) Saint-Mont, next door to the more famous Madiran, is a conservatory of unknown and nearly extinct grape varieties. The people behind Producteurs Plaimont have worked arduously to study and preserve many of these grapes, establishing a concept of retrospective vine growing and winemaking (“Les Vignes Retrouvées”). This wine is a blend of the indigenous Gros Manseng (60%), Petite Manseng (20%), and Arrufiac (20%). The grapes spend a short time on the skins for extra richness, followed by six months in barrique. The result is a delicious mélange of white peach, ripe cantaloupe, and vanilla in a crisp, citrus-laden frame. Hot Picks
