February 20, 2021 - This was a great wine. Lush, with lots of dark brooding fruit. Long finish with brisk acidity. You can tell that this wine was modeled after a northern Rhône Syrah, as opposed to a blockbuster Shiraz. Great wine.

December 31, 2020 - Great wine at its peak! Briary and with loads of roasted meat on the nose, black pepper and gobs of black and blue fruit. Big yet nuanced on the palate. This wine probably has 5-10 years of life left. We had it with burgers stuffed with foie gras.

November 16, 2020 - found this one to be more precise, not as heavy as indicated in previous notes. Actually quite nice

June 12, 2020 - Not going to score at this time - made a joke earlier in the evening how CH was the Chateau Palmer of Australia: I'd never had a bottle that was ready to drink. Then our gracious host pulled out the Moritz. Well, the 07 Moritz kept the streak intact. Maybe it's just the over-extracted, thick, unctuous fruit and tannin combination, but I just can't help but feel like another 5 years it might be ready.

Make no mistake, the wine is big, bold, and flavorful. It's amazing how much they pack into a bottle. But is it ready? Could it use some more balance? These are the thoughts running around my head while I sip it. It is what it is.

May 7, 2020 - Still going strong. Powerful yet graceful. CH wines never seem to disappoint.
