Community Tasting Notes 7

November 7, 2021 - Big, rich and generous. Robust structure, could be syrah if it weren't for the rose perfumed soft fruit palate of fresh raspberries, blueberries and blackcurrant. This is a full bodied wine with medium tannin and acidity and high alcohol. Good but not great. Very pleasing and satisfying wine, lacks the depth to score higher. Long finish but straight forward. Drink now and over the next 10 years.

October 5, 2021 - Really quite extraordinary wine. Blind on a quick mouthful I would have said this was a very upscale Aussie Shiraz. It has that same big rich generous structure, blueberry and menthol on the palate. It is only the slightly softer more feminine blackcurrant notes that hint at something other than Shiraz. Loads of warm, ripe depth and generous weight. Long long finish and complex. Drink now and over the next 10 years.

December 22, 2018 - Deep purple. Black fruit, cherry, licorice, wood spice on the nose. Secondary flavours of wood, greenery (eucalyptus) as well as more cherry and blackberry. Soft tannin. Lingering in mouth.

September 10, 2015 - Big, massive, powerful drinking McLaren Vale Cabernet. Didn't seem to open up for me all the way so I would say it still needs time.

July 25, 2015 - A quality wine. Deep and rich on the nose with a nicely layered palate. Medium-to-full bodied with very fine, persistent tannins. Marred by some tartness on the finish, but still very enjoyable.
