  March 1, 2013 - Rheingau Gourmet Festival "Versteigerungsspitzen & Schatzkammerweine", Kloster Eberbach, early Mar 2013: brown color; apple and grapefruit; malty; oily texture. 92-93 points.

  March 1, 2013 - Tasting and dinner with old wines from Kloster Eberbach (Kloster Eberbach, Rheingau): Quite dark amber, in the direction of brown. The nose is noticeably smoky with caramel, shows notes of oxidation with nutty aromas, hints of oiled wooden boat, and some impression of botrytis. The palate is extremely sweet ("Beerenauslese+") with enormous concentration, caramel, dried fruit, citrus fruit and zest, dried apricot, and a long aftertaste. 93 p
  The power house of the three Riesling wines of the flight of four 1973 Eiswein. The somewhat older impression I got from the nose didn't come back on the palate, which showed plenty of citrus.

  March 1, 2013 - Dinner by Sebastian Lühr * with "Versteigerungsspitzen & Schatzkammerweine" (Rheingau Gourmet & Wein Festival, Kloster Eberbach): Very deep colour, brown amber; roasted aromas, tofee, honey; on the palate very rich and sweet, very concentrated, excellent tension and wonderful acidity, bright red fruit flavours; excellent length, herbs. Harvested one day later than the other Eisweine and the additional cold night (with a temperature of -13C) gave tremendous extra concentration.
