February 21, 2024 - Darker and more intense compared to the 1998, with firm fruit albeit still in an elegant style, again with a great salinity and stones at play. Wonderful Hermitage, STGT really. Niels was quite pleased with this. With Niels and the Heegaard gang.

March 14, 2022 - The body was light. It was not fruity. There was no bouquet.
    The wine was corked.

May 15, 2021 - The 2 Decades Before the Millenium (Vino Sustinemus Clubhouse): A very smoky nose - bacon, plums and cherries with a touch of black pepper. The palate is structured with grippy tannins and high acidity and, hence, provided skeleton for spicy plum/cherry fruits. A very dry style with a good finish and a movement toward more savory with time. Excellent wine.

February 20, 2021 - Nicely perfumed, with some blackberry notes and good acidity, but a lack of either fruit or tertiary flavour. Overall, a bit thin and disjointed - not what one expects from decent vintage Hermitage. Certainly plenty of life left so perhaps caught in a closed phase and it would have been more interesting in a few years' time. Gets a further black mark for being a massive pain to decant, with masses of both chunky and fine sediment...
