October 22, 2023 - Houston Northern Rhone Blowout: This wine was emblematic of the vintage and showed similarity with many burgs of the same year, which is to say, angular and a bit tough. It had some stemmy notes, cranberry fruit and other warm tones. Structurally it’s in a great place, but I think later renditions have been drinking better.

September 22, 2023 - Wow, so much meat, olive and bacon fat interlaced with black fruit that is concentrated, round and fresh. At peak and should hold this way for a decade or two.

February 10, 2023 - Napa 2023: the quieter version; 2/6/2023-2/11/2023 (Napa/Sonoma California): Complete and total Jamet which I just love. We were discussing Press’s bacon tasting back in the day and then tried this wine and it was clear that this wine is almost the wine version of that. All gamey and meaty and really quite interesting. Fun to get to drink.

June 20, 2021 - Quite shy palate at first, after 30mn this was singing.
Very smoky, floral (violets) nose with a hint of black olive. Cherry with dark fruits, the palate is elegant and on the lighter side. Very balanced giving a lot of pleasure to drink.
Based on that bottle, won't get any better with more age.

December 8, 2020 - Open for 90 minutes, decanted just before serving. Absolutely banging nose that is immediately Jamet with heaps of smoked meat, bacon fat, scorched earth, smoky coffee, black olive, and above all a gloriously expressive and detailed bouquet of violets and white flowers. Incredibly perfumed and showy. The first of my few'96s and this bottle is an example as good as any of the preceding vintages ('99, '98, '97, which I adore) of the rustic meaty notes and elegant floral details that Jamet achieves like no other. A show stopper. Very pleased. 96+
