August 31, 2023 - You’d think I’d have learned the lesson by now but this is a wine that despite the common thinking really needs to be opened a bit in advance. Again the cork disintegrated even with a Durant. Did the double decant. Poured later in the evening. Just got better and better with time. Very enjoyable wine.

October 9, 2021 - One of the best bottles from this lot and a really good learning for me. We opened this up before dinner and double decanted for sediment. The cork was a bit crumbly even with a Durand which says something. Then corked with a slow pourer. Restaurant didn't allow corkage so this was drunk post dinner (maybe five hours later) and it was just awesome. Lots of red fruits and very well balanced and elegant and just delicious.

August 3, 2020 - Reasonable fill, but definitely a less than perfect cork that was fairly well soaked through and made it out with a Durand, but was falling apart a bit. Still, drinking nicely. Bordeaux is a hearty wine I find and seems to be able to survive some even sub-optimal conditions. Paired with a bit of burger (first time with that food in while) and it was drinking nicely.

May 29, 2019 - Route 66 - Bordeaux Exploration (Vaucluse Townhouse): Pomerol B: Our first bottle from this recent auction win and now I'm excited about the rest. This wine was young, fresh, vibrant. It's darker fruits and just starting to touch the secondary notes but they're not as developed yet (how is that possible? this wine is over 50....). The only one of the bunch too that was more in the dark vein - generally expect more of the red fruited side for Pomerol but there you have it. Lovely though.

April 5, 2017 - Pnp. This is so alluring and complex on the nose with red fruit, soil, graphite, tobacco and forest. The wine kept changing in our 1.5hr dinner. The wine has good length with lots of fruit left. I like this a lot.
