July 30, 2017 - Delightful wine that's drinking much older than it is.

February 20, 2017 - Elegant wine that really needed 90 minutes or so to show. I probably should have decanted.

Beautiful balance of merlot fruit and cab franc tobacco with a rocky & dusty terroir underpinning the palate through finish. Acidity is bright and pops a touch in the early body but doesn't really show again until the finish where it lingers with tannins for 30-45 seconds.

I find that the nose has increased in complexity over the 2.5 hours we had this open. Also, interestingly, I don't find the licorice that I detected just a year and change ago. There is some anis but it's slight and early body, not a lingering kind of flavor that I think of licorice developing in the mid to late body.

March 1, 2016 - Almost undrinkable the first night-thin and overpowered by woody tannins. On the second night the wine developed weight and the tannins softened materially. Dark fruit, some licorice, a little dirt.

January 12, 2016 - Drank as a pop and pour. Wine has rich fruit though pushed forward and a little red with slight acidity through the early finish. Body develops on the palate, with liquid stone and crushed rock and some smoke (but no real oak hues or vanilla in the body). I prefer this wines body to the nose, which is directly indicative of the flavor profile but a bit washed out and more anis and some tarragon, not a rich nose but a lot going on . Tannins have softened since my last taste and are relatively seemless, though slight heat develops immediately after swallowing and lingers into th finish this may sit down with bottle time. Oddly, The finish to me produces riper fruit than the body and also displays pronounced licorice notes.

August 15, 2014 - Nice nose. Lovely fruit character up front becomes a bit astringent in the mid palate.
