November 4, 2020 - Ever since we did a tasting of some younger ones of these maybe a month ago I'd been interested in getting to try one with more age and this didn't disappoint at all. Opened and decanted. As it came alive there was a lot more bacon fat and all of that fun rhone style. Very enjoyable and paired excellently with different duck and steak dishes. Will continue to keep eyes out for the older ones as age really made this even better.

September 16, 2020 - This wine passed through some very different phases in its life. From fruity velvety length in earlier years to more earthy, mineral dominant notes now. Still vibrant acidity and grippy tannin, this converges to old wine style, without entirely losing it's Rhône particularities, with still notes of herbs and spices present. I did not expect to be this good.

April 4, 2020 - Decanted for 60-90 mins. Considering the lower CT ratings, I was pleasantly surprised by this wine. Color showing a bit of age, but wine had the classic taste of a higher-end Cote-Rotie with the earth and pepper notes still intact. Due to age its probably lost some of its fruit, but that made it taste more Bordeaux-like on the palate. Stayed stable throughout dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed the full vertical of each glass.

February 20, 2020 - Drunk at Cafe Grey Upper House Hong Kong and served blind - To say this punches above its weight is an understatement. Most mistook it for La Turque (once it was revealed as Guigal). All the smoky, gamey characteristics you'd expect from a Northern Rhone, moderated subtly with the touch of viognier. Drinking very well and with many more years to go than the CT drinking window would suggest.

September 16, 2015 - Still good but a bit tired. If you like mature syrah, this is very good. Very typical for Northern Rhone.
