Community Tasting Notes 4

June 18, 2012 - Medium plus intensity Ruby coloured. On the nose the medium plus intensity developing wine is dominated by aromas of blackcurrant, followed by a slightly resinous and gamey note, some mint and cooked pea, oddly enough. On the palate the wine has medium plus alcohol and tannin with flavours of blackcurrant, cream, caramel, vanilla, clove, aniseed and medicinal herbs. The tannins are powdering and fine and the alcohol is generous and carries, with the medicinal and slightly bitter herbs on the medium plus length finish. Okay.

December 20, 2011 - Dark purple, dense and full bodied. Fruit forward, plums on the nose, would stand up to grilled meats and other strong flavors. One dimensional and not particularly refined, but would make a good picnic wine.
