March 20, 2024 - WWC - CH (Fort Worth Club): Tasted blind - Lots of bricking, almost brown in the glass; nose of meat and leather, lots of sediment; some black tea; slightly prune-y; most dried/stewed fruits; Guessed a CDP. This wine has probably seen better days, though it was not flawed. Just a little tired.

June 4, 2021 - Dull garnet with an orange-ish hue under the lights. Red. worries and a hint of orange zest on a confectionary nose.

Piercing red berry and orange zestiness that are perfectly matched. The orange and the berries coexist for a long time into a very lengthy finish. Perfectly aged and surprisingly youthful and absolutely delicious.

March 1, 2021 - Zero nose, no aromatic expression whatsoever. Took over an hour to even show the tar / creosote components. Dark, tight, inexpressive, closed, stubborn. Some redeeming qualities on the palate, dark lush fruit, blackberry and cassis.

December 28, 2020 - Blackberry, plum, tar. Medium bodied but a huge presence in the mouth. Sweet fruit and very savoury and earthy. All the classic smells: bacon, leather, smoke, plum. High acid, and still a solid load of tannin. Slightly lean but fresh on the finish. Lovely but lighter mature Hermitage.

June 7, 2020 - Has aged well. Integrated, soften tannins, medium aftertaste, lots of wood undertone, wild berries, blackcurrant.
