December 20, 2019 - The fill was into the neck and the cork was sound; popped poured and consumed over dinner and the following 2 hours. Medium garnet with bricking at the rim. Notes of dried black fruits, old barrels, mushrooms, with hints of roasted fennel. Medium bodied, competent integrated tannins, good depth and grip, with a savory finish.

November 24, 2019 - Bordeaux 1989 - 30years on in large formats (Luzern): From Magnum. Very classical Pauillac nose with moss, dark fruit, pine and cedar. The palate had a touch too much acidity for the fruit it carried. Did great with food though.

October 27, 2019 - Bought a case of this on futures circa 1988. We sort of forgot about it, and this is the first bottle we opened. Cork was perfect. Wine is superb. Very smooth, balanced. Not gigantic or overly complex, but more like 'perfect'. Pretty happy to have 11 bottles left!

April 22, 2019 - I’ve had this in the cellar a long time and to be truthful it was a bit past its best. Browning rim and a crumbly cork. Nose has more gravy than fruit at first. After a couple of houses in the decanter the fruit is more to the fore and this shows like a mature Pauillac with plenty of cedar and cassis. After three hours it starts to become more gravy-like. More like a 40:year old wine than one at 30. Brobably a condition issue rather than the wine itself.

February 1, 2019 - Decanted an hour before dinner. Still quite young appearance, quite tight at start, requires more air to open. Classical, elegant Médoc, nose with black currant, leather and forest floor, good freshness and long finish. Very good now but no hurry to drink as long the cork is fine (92-93).
