February 5, 2024 - Nicely matured over 20 years; dark garnet; subtle nose; nice balance; medium fruit; very nice package altogether.

September 20, 2017 - Purple color with a bouquet and flavor mixing cassis with very strong grassy notes, reminiscent of an assertive Sauvignon Blanc, bringing to mind that this grape is one of the parents of Cabernet Sauvignon. Well balanced with good depth and a long finish. At the least, an intriguing wine. Other tasters did not mention the grassiness, but as all wine drinkers know, the range of impressions for the same wine are usually quite varied. Drunk At Blue Mountain Beach in the Florida Panhandle, listening to the roar of the ocean at the end of a wonderful day.

June 15, 2014 - Dark, but not black in the glass, with a solid ruby rim and maybe just the faintest hint of orange at the outer edge. The nose, which leaps from the glass, is all about sweet, blue fruit. On the palate, this is dark, sweet berries to open, with blackberry, cassis, and a bit of blueberry compote. The wine is dry, but has a sweet, fruity character that is soon balanced by a dark chocolate and coffee bitterness. A touch of funk or earth creeps in underneath, as well. There is a good, supporting acidity, and the wine is anything but flabby. The mid palate still has solid tannins that are robust, but still smooth and refined. My only complaint is a touch of mid-palate heat, with the wine's 14.5% ABV. But the heat dissipates on the finish, which is quite long and very well-balanced. I bought this wine at the height of the 2008 market, and significantly overpaid at $65. However, it was worth it, even at that price. At prices like the CT average value, this is an outstanding bargain.

March 17, 2014 - PnP w/10 decant. Clear, deep dark purple color. Showed better than expected. Nice Cab nose. Med body, perfect balance/integration, dinking window. Smooth, soft, plenty of power, nothing off. Great value. $37.
