May 12, 2022 - Tasted blind. Light red, rusty, rather lean on the palate. Still nice core of red fruit. Nice but not amazing. I wonder if more air would have helped.

May 7, 2022 - Pours a beautiful deep garnet with no sign of bricking, cork soaked up halfway. The nose immediately comes alive with dark black cherry, fresh earth, darjeeling, a hint of red plum and smoke. Fully mature, supple and seamless from attack to finish and a very good drink but I'm left wanting more fruit character than this had today. In this way it was a bit monolithic and less exciting than say other '02 Grand Crus. Just arrived at peak maturity, drink or hold 10-15 years.

January 23, 2022 - I was pleasantly surprised by how well this wine was drinking. There is still fruit and it was so smooth with duck; the perfect combo. I think the wine is perfect to drink now.

July 18, 2021 - This is really a beautiful wine. Not what you’d expect from Corton perhaps, but a sense of place nonetheless. Probably about my sixth bottle. Strawberries, cherries and earth. Not overt, but clear and firm. Sensual. In a great place, but most 2002s always have been. Very giving. Forgive me if I am sentimental about this wine, but it was gifted to me by my late wife. She paid $55. Well done. 93

February 27, 2021 - Delicate nose of Strawberries, quite resolved tannins on opening and would likely get better. Red fruit filled and still fresh. Well structured and will continue to improve. Truly started to drink well only after a 2 hour decant

Burgundy-Report

(Bouchard Père et Fils Le Corton) Medium-plus cherry-red. The nose has really impressive black-shaded depth with a twist of oak, tightening with time and slowly taking on an unusual spicy, creamy, fresh-ginger note - if you wait an hour or so the nose has a much more classic profile. In the mouth there's concentrated ripe fruit. This wine has a very round and balanced personality with acidity and tannin that you hardly notice. Really a very sophisticated wine and one I'll be please to cellar.
