June 17, 2021 - I had some truffle risotto dish for dinner - and a trying week - and it just felt like time to open a nice bottle. I figured Pinot - but a few minutes of research said old Nebbiolo would be a great match. With one exception, this was the oldest Nebbiolo I had in the cellar. So what the heck? Turns out I probably needed something older still. The match was ok, but the key to the ideal match would have been very soft tannins. It seems they're softening in this bottle ... but definitely still present. The fruit was a bit muted on open, but as a previous reviewer noted, the tart cherries are coming out with more air in my bottle as well. It's enjoyable and a perfectly fine bottle, there seems to be no rush on drinking it up either -but it's just not the a-ha match I was hoping for ...

November 26, 2018 - Light ruby red. Upon opening, this wine was earthy and funky. With 2+hours in the decenter, the wine dramatically evolved to tart cherry nose and flavors. Still tannic, this wine could use a few years to resolve tannins.

October 20, 2018 - Drinking welll right now

October 1, 2017 - Based on tasting the wine opened for 5 days. Just short of opaque color with an inch pour. Aromas of black tea, blackberry, and cherry. Enters the mouth with a concentrated taste of lively acidity, black cherry, almost lush texture, and deep background tannin. Overall, unusually rich for a Nebbiolo, that got better every day opened.
