  August 27, 2023 - Cork perfect. Deep red with a purple rim. Still has plenty of berry fruit, perhaps drying a little. Faint prunes. To be fair I didn’t get much else. However, it is still very enjoyable at 29 years and probably better than when first released. No idea when it will be past it’s best, but I don’t have any left. A pleasant surprise for sure.

  June 3, 2023 - Over the last few years, l've had a few vintages of this wine from this era. So far, '93 (labelled as Hermitage) has been my favourite. That said the '94 is a close second. On opening, a slight smell of hay, which mellowed to leather and tobacco with some air. Good ruby colour, hardly any brickishness. Still retains that delicious syrupy mouth feel and subtle berry palate. Wine from this era will not last for ever, so I am making my way through that last of them in the cellar. A very enjoyable exercise.
