August 15, 2018 - Showing development for sure but still some lively fruit. Deep musky notes, cave and slight funk, sweet fruit, some tobacco spice.

  • Schwarzer Hund Likes this wine:

July 21, 2016 - Dark berry aromas, plenty of smoky dark berry fruit, balance is perfect, smooth medium length finish. Can't find anything negative to say about this well aged wine. Doubt that it will get any better with more age.

  • Red White Likes this wine: 88 points

December 30, 2015 - Last one in my cellar... and you should drink the rest of yours, too.
    Brick colored
    Elegant and balanced, but fading

  • Red White Likes this wine: 90 points

October 23, 2015 - Arguably long in the tooth, this wine has held up well. Like all older Dwhlinger pintos, you are rewarded for giving this wine some time to open up in the glass

The old brick color says drink me now, and it's probably worth listening to; the wine still manages to balance cranberry and toast, losing a bit of its more youthful cherry profile.

Pairing with smoked Coho salmon, it's a wonderful wine!

February 27, 2015 - Nicely balanced, with the fruits a bit pleasantly stewed. Not likely to improve, but quite nice.
